He Who Fights My Battles

Praise be to God, I do not have to fight my battles because God will fight them for me! People in positions above me may think they are smarter than me, but my God knows different. People may think they are getting over on me, but the reality is they haven't. Not only am I smarter than some may think and know more than I let on, I know something else that is very important: My God has seen and heard everything that has been done against me. At times, it may kill me to hold my tongue when I know others are not as right as their arrogance leads them to believe. There are times when my flesh rises up and I want to snap back, but at those times I quietly pray... pray for patience, pray for discernment and guidance in how to handle the situation, and pray for the one coming against me. The truth is they need prayers more than myself because I am a King's daughter and it isn't wise to mess with the King's daughter (can I get a witness?). I serve an awesome God and I take Him at His word in Isaiah 41:11, those who come against me in any way will have to deal with the wrath of my Heavenly Father. Think about it, I am the daughter of the King, not just any King but THE King.

I want to encourage my Brothers and Sisters in Christ. You are also THE King's sons and daughters and He is a Father like no Father. He loves us. He comforts us. He provides for us. He hears us (and knows our needs before we even know them), He protects us. We need to pray for our enemy's. Pray for those that belittle us. Pray for those that attempt to throw us under the bus to exalt themselves. Pray for those that talk about us. Pray for those that try to use our beliefs against us. God sees all of this, we do not have to stoop to their level. He is very clear about those who come against us and their fate. They need our prayers more than they even know it and all we need to do is put it in God's hands and leave it there (don't pick it back up after leaving at His feet). Be encouraged and remember you are a child of THE King!

"10 Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed ; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. 11 Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded : they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish . 12 Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. 13 For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. ~ Isaiah 41:10 - 13

Have Thine Own Way Lord

Have Thine Own Way Lord... this song has been on my heart all evening. The enemy tries to bring us down, whispers his lies along the way but how many know the devil is a liar?! I serve an awesome God, He is the potter, I am the clay and I praise Him for molding and making me, yes Lord... Have THINE own way!

*********
Words: Adelaide A. Pollard, 1907. Pollard believed the Lord wanted her in Africa as a missionary, but she was unable to raise funds to go. In an uncertain state of mind, she attended a prayer meeting, where she heard an elderly woman pray, “It’s all right, Lord. It doesn’t matter what You bring into our lives, just have Your own way with us.” At home that night, much encouraged, she wrote this hymn.

Music: Adelaide, George C. Stebbins, Northfield Hymnal with Alexander’s Supplement, 1907 (MIDI, score).

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Thou art the Potter, I am the clay.
Mold me and make me after Thy will,
While I am waiting, yielded and still.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Search me and try me, Master, today!
Whiter than snow, Lord, wash me just now,
As in Thy presence humbly I bow.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Wounded and weary, help me, I pray!
Power, all power, surely is Thine!
Touch me and heal me, Savior divine.

Have Thine own way, Lord! Have Thine own way!
Hold o’er my being absolute sway!
Fill with Thy Spirit ’till all shall see
Christ only, always, living in me.
